Curfew Ordinance: A public hearing on this possible ordinance is scheduled for 7:00 PMTuesday, December 3, 2002.I recommend the Board discuss the comments heard, and decide how to proceed.Police Chief Duane Alexander and I will both be present to answer any questions and to give you our respective comments.

4. Fire Protection Contract with PiscataquisCounty: Tuesday, December 3, 2002, the Piscataquis County Commissioners met and discussed the renewal of the CountyContract with the Town of Greenville for fire protection services in the surrounding unorganized territories.Fire Chief Mike Drinkwater and I will be present to discuss how this discussion went, as well as our recommendations for how to proceed.

5. Sale of 1977 Fire Truck: Following the competitive bid process implemented this summer, the sale of the 1977 pumper was awarded to the high bidder, a gentleman from Old Town.Despite numerous efforts to contact him, he has not responded, and our truck remains sitting behind the municipal building.Fire Chief Mike Drinkwater and I have a recommendation for how to proceed.

7. Property Tax Abatement Requests: There are a series of abatement requests for the Board of Assessors to consider.Most are minor adjustments or corrections of errors discovered by the assessor after the commitment.Town Clerk Roxanne Lizotte will be present to explain these requests, which are attached in abbreviated form.

8. Proposed Contract for Rubbish Pickup: Sean Bolen and I are working on a new contract, which should be ready for the Board’s consideration at this meeting.

9. Proposed Merit Wage System: This idea was briefly discussed during the budget process last year.This item was tabled by the Board of Selectmen at the last meeting.I will gladly update you on my proposal at the meeting.

10. Request to Reschedule next Selectmen’s Meeting: The MDOT’s Public Hearing for the Six-year plan will held in Dover-Foxcroft at the exact same day and time as the next Selectmen’s Meeting.As Chairman for Region #3’s Transportation Advisory Committee, I feel I should be present at this public hearing.I respectfully request the Board consider changing the date of their next meeting to either Tuesday, December 17 or Thursday, December 19.I would prefer Tuesday, if that works for you.

11. Interlocal Agreement – Towns of Greenville & Shirley: The Town of Shirley has indicated they would like to proceed with a joint-application for Housing Assistance funds through the CDBG program.Ron Harriman has prepared such an agreement for the respective Boards’ consideration.I recommend proceeding with the agreement.

12. Recommended Sale of Tax Acquired Property: There is one property which the Town foreclosed on over a year ago which should be sold to recover taxes due.I will have details for you at the meeting.
