5. Rubbish Pickup – Shoals Road and Sandy Bay: It may make more sense to move the current pickup of rubbish on Shoals Road from its intersection with Lily Bay Road to its intersection with Sloper Lane. As was done with the former pickup point for Sandy Bay along Lily Bay Road, the Town would then post the former pickup site (intersection of Lily Bay Road and Shoals Road) with NO DUMPING signs. Residents along Shoals Road would be directed to leave their trash either in front of their driveways (if they are along the townway) or at the intersection of Shoals and Sloper.

Residents of Sandy Bay have suggested a new pickup point at the wide shoulder along Lily bay Road on the same side of the road. Mike Thornton, Sean Bolen and I will have more details for you at this meeting.

9. MMA Legislative Policy Committee Election ballot: Risking shameless self promotion, I would respectfully request that the Board vote for me to be the region’s delegate to MMA’s Legislative Policy Committee. As two of the three candidates are to be selected, I also recommend that the Board vote for Millinocket Town Manager Eugene Conlogue.

10. Public Hearing for Planning Grant for Wood Co-Op Feasibility Study: I recommend that the Town submit a community planning grant application for funds necessary to complete a feasibility study for the creation of a wood co-op related to the Greenville Business Incubator. This has been identified by officials at the University of Maine and those involved with the Greenville Business Incubator as a means of spurring business growth in the wood composites field here in Greenville. I recommend that the hearing be held at the beginning of the August 4 Selectmen’s meeting.
