3. Selection of Bond Proposals: The Town has competitively sought two bond proposals – one for the Greenville Business incubator (approved in 2003) for $75,000; and one for our road improvement program (approved in 2005) for $375,000. Our bookkeeper and I will have a recommendation for the Board once the bids close Wednesday afternoon.

4. Bids for Replacement of Public Works One-Ton Truck (including sale of current vehicle): Two related actions are sought. First, a vendor for a new one-ton truck as specified by the Town is sought to replace the 1997 F-350 used by the Public Works Department. Second, the disposition of the old truck – either through outright sale or by trade-in to a new truck dealership – should be determined. Following the closure of bids on both the purchase of a new truck and sale of the old truck by 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 29, Public Works Foreman Mike Thornton and I will have a recommendation for the Board of Selectmen.

The latest draft as proposed and agreed to by NREC is attached. NREC President Eric Ward will be present to answer questions in regard to this agreement, which again will not result in any cost for services nor any liability to the Town of Greenville for the construction and the operation of the proposed facility.

7. Road Name Change: There has been a request received from Loren Wood to rename a short spur off North Shore Road near Lower Wilson Pond from its current Town-designation of Sanders Point” to Chapel Point” due to local history of the area and its previous owners. As the letter and its various signatures show, there is significant, possibly unanimous support for this change. In the past, the Board has set a precedent for considering road name changes, requiring a letter of request from affected property owners and then holding a public hearing to consider the proposed name change, then taking action on the request. I suggest all of this be done in this case, the hearing and subsequent action being taken up at the next meeting of the Board of Selectmen.

8. Letter of Request to Board of Selectmen, RE: 2005 Municipal Election: The Town has received a letter of request from former Selectman Bruce Hanson for the Board to reconsider the past election due to some irregularities in the hours the polls were open. This issue is very complicated and I have begun to research the options available to the Board of Selectmen for how to deal with this issue.
