4. WW II Veteran’s Luncheon: Pete Johnson of the American Legion Post in Greenville has asked to speak before the Board of Selectmen to share plans for a luncheon on May 22 for WWII veterans. I do not believe the Legion is asking for any help, but I do think we should support them in this effort anyhow possible.

Municipal Building Project Presentation: The second-incarnation of the Municipal Building Task Force has been working closely to develop a plan for developing a new administration building / police station at 7 Minden Street. The committee will present its findings to the Board of Selectmen with a public hearing recommendation, a proposed scope of work, a list of alternatives to this proposal, and a financing plan. Also, Joe Bolf – an abutter to the recently Town-acquired 7 Minden Street property – has made a request to salvage the current structure. 8. Airport Snow Removal Equipment Building Bid Award: After discerning the apparent low bidder April 28, and after consulting with engineers from Dufresne-Henry, Inc., I recommend that the Board award the bid to low bidder Mike Theriault Construction, leaving the terms of the contract and the exact scope of work to be worked out by our engineers and representatives from the FAA / MDOT. The contract will be reviewed by the Board prior to approval; the bid award will allow those who bid to make plans accordingly.

10. Administrative Services for Housing Rehabilitation Program: The Towns of Greenville and Shirley have been awarded a $300,000 Housing Rehabilitation grant. The Town of Greenville, as the lead community, has advertised for administrative services from a contractor to complete Phase II & III of the grant program. One contractor submitted proposals by the April 28th deadline: Ron Harriman Associates. Ron has assisted the Town of Greenville on several Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) projects, most recently with our 2001 Housing Rehabilitation program. I have a great deal of faith in Ron’s ability to assist us once again in administering this new program. I strongly recommend that the Board of Selectmen accept his proposal.
